Why Use Handmade Soap?

It is REAL SOAP!

Many commercial products offered for personal cleansing are labeled as “body bar”, “bath bar”, “moisturizing bar”, “beauty bar”, or “sports bar”. They often dry out and age the skin, and cannot actually call themselves soap because they are made from detergents, fillers, sulfates, and other chemical ingredients such as artificial foamers. The exact opposite is true of handmade soap – it is true SOAP that is made from natural, gentle oils.

Great for Sensitive Skin

Your skin is absorbent and porous, and prolonged use of heavily artificial detergents and cleaners can cause lasting damage. Handmade soap uses ingredients like olive oil, coconut oil, cocoa butter, and more to ensure that your skin is treated gently and lovingly.

Environmentally & Globally Friendly

Handmade soap is made in small batches by your local soapmaker. Purchasing it ensures that no workers have been forced to work under poor conditions, no animals have been harmed through testing, and no natural habitats were harmed by the runoff from a large chemical factory. It also benefits the local economy by supporting small business owners.

No Petroleum Products

Handmade cold-process soap is free from petrochemicals, parabens, phthalates, and other chemical ingredients such as SLS. Made with only natural oils, butters, and fats, handmade soap is rich in vitamins, nutrients, and antioxidants that help promote healthy skin.

Retained Glycerin

Glycerin is a natural humectant byproduct of the saponification process that is great at retaining the water and moisture in your skin. Many commercial soaps have some or all of the glycerin extracted, which is then sold or used in making lotions and moisturizers (which you wouldn’t need if the glycerin had stayed in the soap to begin with!)

Fun & Seasonal

They say that variety is the spice of life! With handmade soap you get to explore the tremendous array of available oils, colors, scents, designs, and exfoliants! Offerings are ever-changing throughout the year so that bath time is never boring.
